Ice Cream Sandwiches

It all started with an ice cream sandwich.  Four to be exact.

Everyone was sitting in the living room watching TV - by everyone I mean my sister, her hubs, her daughter, my hubs, and myself.  Hubs gets up and takes everyone's plate to the kitchen.  That day hubs and I went grocery shopping and bought ice cream sandwiches - something that exists in Honduras and the US.

Hubs asks if anyone wanted an ice cream sandwich - and of course we all did (minus my niece, she's too little for ice cream sandwiches).  So, hubs putters around the kitchen getting it all ready and this is what he comes out with:

He brings everyone their ice cream sandwish on a plate with a fork.  We, of course, find this absolutely hilarious and can't stop laughing until tears are running down our faces (ok, it wasn't that funny - I'm not sure what was wrong with us, we are a weird bunch).  Hubs doesn't quite understand what's so funny, but he soon realizes that that's not exactly how we eat ice cream sandwiches.  The funny thing is, they don't eat them like that in Honduras either.  He just figured that since we eat everything else with a plate and fork, we'd eat ice cream sandwiches the same way.

It's interesting seeing your life from the eyes of someone else - I'm still not sure why he thought we'd eat our sandwich that way.  He's still not sure why we'd eat it with our hands when we eat so few foods with our hands.  I can't explain it really - if I had eaten it with a fork I wouldn't have had to revert to being a five year old and licking the chocolate bits off my fingers when I was done...but that's half the fun!
